Tasman
Rye, Mornington Peninsula · 360m² · Platinum Finishes · 7 Months
An architectural statement — delivered in seven months.
The Tasman project is Crowncon Homes' most ambitious build to date — a 360m² custom home in Rye, Mornington Peninsula that truly needs to be seen to be believed. Spread across two wings, two levels, and a separate outbuilding, this home was designed with reverse living to maximise sweeping views of Bass Strait and the neighbouring national forest.
The brief called for Crowncon Homes' platinum finishes package — and Tim and the team delivered without compromise. Imported Spanish tiles, two gas log fireplaces, two built-in gas BBQs, expansive custom cabinetry across every room, and a full Sonos whole-home audio system. Smart home features include CCTV, alarm system, intercom, and remote entry.
Structurally, the home presented significant site challenges — a one-metre rear site cut requiring engineered retaining walls, alongside hard landscaping and a suite of premium specialty items. Architecturally, the highlight is a cathedral ceiling with VJ100 lining, exposed feature rafters, and a striking double-glazed raked window set above a commercial-grade double sliding door.
Despite all of this, Tasman was delivered in just seven months. Two extremely happy clients, and a home that stands as one of the finest custom builds on the Mornington Peninsula. Another proud achievement for the Crowncon Homes team.
