A platinum finishes package throughout — imported Spanish tiles, dual gas log fireplaces, full Sonos audio, smart home integration — delivered in seven months despite a one-metre rear site cut requiring engineered retaining walls.
It's the clearest evidence of what Crowncon can deliver on a genuinely demanding Peninsula site, an hour from our home base.
Tasman was our most ambitious build yet, and it happened an hour from our office. Distance doesn't change how involved I am — I was on that site as much as I am on any Bayside build.

What's different about building on the Mornington Peninsula compared to Bayside or South East Melbourne?
Coastal exposure and bushfire overlays come up far more often here than in our Bayside or South East work — wind loads near the coast and BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) assessments inland toward Red Hill and the ranges both shape the design and the build spec. Blocks can also be larger and further from services, which changes site costs. We factor all of this in before you commit to a design, not after.
You're based in Carrum Downs — how do you manage a build an hour away?
The same way we manage every build: Tim runs it personally. Tasman, our Rye project, was delivered in seven months despite the distance and a genuinely complex brief — a one-metre site cut, two wings, two levels and a separate outbuilding. What does a custom home on the Mornington Peninsula cost?
It depends heavily on the block and the finish level. Tasman, our completed Rye project, was a 360m² home with a platinum finishes package. As a general guide, most custom homes we build sit between $800,000 and $1.3 million all-in, with Peninsula-specific site costs — coastal wind engineering, larger blocks, further-flung services — usually landing at the higher end of what we'd quote for an equivalent Bayside build. We set the budget before you commit and work to a fixed-price contract.
Do you do knockdown rebuilds on the Peninsula?
Yes. Knockdown rebuild works the same way here as it does across our other service areas — we manage demolition through to handover. The Peninsula's older beach houses on large, well-located blocks are often strong knockdown-rebuild candidates.
